|---|---|---|
| Admin | A person who can open every page in GuruSup Brain and manage the organization: sources, members, roles, skills, conflicts and billing. Every organization has at least one. | Roles |
| Agent account | A machine account that signs in with an API key instead of a person's login. It is always a member and sees only the categories an admin grants it. | Agent accounts |
| Backfill | A one-time import of content that existed before you connected a source. For Notion and HubSpot, setup imports it for you when you approve access, and later an admin chooses it under Choose content and clicks Import selected. Notion also accepts an export you upload, which the app calls a backfill. Slack has none. | Connectors overview |
| Brain contact | A member who has been set up so Brain can ask them a question when it lacks an answer, through Slack or a call. | Brain contacts and external contacts |
| Category | A business area such as sales, finance, engineering or hr. Every page of Brain's memory belongs to one. Categories decide what each person's assistant can retrieve. | Roles |
| Citation | A reference in an answer to a page of Brain's memory that supports it. It names the page, not the original document. | Sources and citations |
| Conflict | Two sources that disagree in a way Brain cannot settle on its own. It appears under Conflicts for an admin to decide. | How conflicts work |
| Connector | An app you link to Brain so it can learn from it. Slack, Notion and HubSpot are connectors. Once linked, the app becomes a source. | Connectors overview |
| External contact | Someone outside your organization, such as a partner, whom an admin has added so Brain can ask them a question. They have no account. | Brain contacts and external contacts |
| Ingest | Brain reading new content and learning from it. It is also the name of the page, under Knowledge, where admins follow each item from received to learned. | Follow ingestion |
| Knowledge access | Which categories a person, or a skill, can retrieve. Admins have all categories. Members and agent accounts have the ones an admin grants them. | Roles |
| MCP | The connection your AI assistant uses to talk to Brain. Your assistant asks Brain for evidence through it. | MCP overview |
| Member | A person in your organization who is not an admin. Members use Brain through their assistant, follow their own requests under My requests, and see only the categories they are granted. | Roles |
| Memory | A single fact Brain has learned, tied to the source it came from. Some screens call it a claim. Brain's memory also means everything it has learned, kept as linked pages. | How Brain works |
| Organization | The group of people who share one Brain: its sources, memory, members and plan. You choose the organization when you sign in. | Organization settings |
| Paused | A status on Ingest. The item is saved, but your organization does not have enough usage left to learn it. Learning resumes by itself when usage renews or increases. | Usage and limits |
| Request | A question Brain sent to a colleague or contact to fill a gap in what it knows. The person who started it follows it under My requests. Admins see all of them under Ingest. | My requests |
| Skill | A set of instructions, written as a SKILL.md file, that an assistant can load when a task matches it. Admins approve skills under Skills. | Skills |
| Source | Anything that feeds Brain: a Slack channel, a Notion account, a HubSpot account, a webhook, or your uploaded files. The Sources page lists them. | Check source status |
| Synapses | The page that maps what Brain learned as nodes, such as pages, facts, entities and sources, and the relations between them. | Explore Synapses |
| Usage | What Brain spends when it reads new content. Your plan gives your organization an amount each month. Asking questions does not spend it. | Usage and limits |
| Webhook source | A source with its own URL. Any tool that can call a URL can send it data, and an admin can add files to it by hand. | Send data with a webhook |
